European Youth contacting their HR ambassadors

Stubborn optimists from across Europe have reached out to their respective Human Rights Ambassadors. We are calling on them to support our initiative for an Advisory Opinion from the International Court of Justice on climate change and human rights.

We have reached out to:

  • Rauno Merisaari, Finland´s Ambassador for Human Rights and Democracy

  • Bärbel Kofler, Germany’s Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Assistance

  • Marc Bichler, Luxembourg’s Ambassador-at-Large for Human Rights

  •  Bahia Tahzib-Lie, the Netherlands’ Human Rights Ambassador

  • Annika Ben David, Sweden’s Ambassador for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law

  • Rita French, UK Ambassador for Human Rights

We have invited Europe’s Human Rights Ambassadors, to join us in recognizing the interconnectedness of the climate crisis and violations of human rights, and finding equitable ways forward. The UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet has endorsed our calls, will Europe’s human rights ambassadors follow suit?

We believe their support could contribute to catalyzing state support for the Advisory Opinion. We appreciate the solidarity with the young people from around the globe to demand for the ICJ to clarify the rights of present and future generations.

Please consider this as an open invitation to stand with us in solidarity.
