The Second Central American Meeting for the Escazú Agreement took in Tegucigalpa, Honduras from May 17 to 19, 2023. The event aimed to consolidate the Central American Network for the Escazú Agreement by launching its constitution and bringing together representatives from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, and Honduras.

The expected outcomes of the meeting included advocating for the adherence process in Honduras, establishing a work plan for 2023 and 2024, and defining communication channels to support elected representatives. Participants included 40 members from the Honduran Network for Escazú and representatives from the other Central American networks.

The program included various activities such as presentations on the environmental context in Honduras, discussions on transparency, citizen participation, environmental justice, and advocacy actions. The meeting concluded with a panel presentation on the Central American and Honduran networks for Escazú, as well as regional group work sessions.
