Campaigners have dinner with Dutch PM Rutte

On the first evening of COP26 in Glasgow, two campaigners of World’s Youth for Climate Justice had dinner with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. Solomon Yeo (Solomon Islands) and Aoife Fleming (Netherlands) spoke to PM Rutte about the potential that the ICJ Advisory Opinion can have for global climate ambition & action.

Aoife and Solomon pointed out that the Netherlands is host country of the ICJ, and could symbolically have an important role to play in the request of an ICJ Advisory Opinion. PM Rutte found the AO an interesting idea and said he would look into it.
